Develop your appreciation for Qur’an, Hadith, and more in our new spring class offerings.
Ustadha Zaynab Ansari
Thursdays, 7 PM–8 PM
Starting Thursday, January 27
This course is designed as an introduction to Juz’ ‘Amma, the 30th and most frequently-read section of the Noble Qur’an. Given our extensive interaction with this section of the Qur’an, it behooves us to learn more about the Surahs we recite in our daily prayer and strive to teach our children.
The course will introduce students to the overall structure of the Qur’an, the basic approaches to Tafsīr, the difference between Tafsīr and Tadabbur, and reflections on the beautiful chapters that comprise the 30th Juz’. Generally, the class will be divided into four parts: Recitation of the Sūrah, a review of Tajwīd rules, a presentation of the overall significance of the Sūrah, and a deeper reflection on core concepts.
Students are invited to participate through reciting and memorizing the Sūrah, completing homework assignments, and reflecting on how the Sūrah applies to their lives. The class is probably most beneficial for ages 11-17; however, students of all ages are welcome to apply. The instructor especially encourages new Muslims to enroll.

This course is designed as a follow-up to Shaykh Hassan’s Demystifying ̣Ṣahīḥ al-Bukhārī. Students will benefit from an in-depth reading of one of the most important texts of the Islamic tradition under the guidance of Sh. Hassan Lachheb, who possesses an isnād in this important book.
Containing thousands of narrations about core matters of the religion, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī is a treasure trove of Prophetic wisdom about faith, worship, beliefs, history, justice, governance, and even descriptions of the signs of the Last Day.
No serious Muslim can go without an in-depth study of Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, and every serious Muslim realizes that such a book was not intended to be self-taught. Join a community of students and partake in the barakah of hearing these hadiths transmitted by a contemporary master and lover of the Prophetic Sunna.
Text: Readings will be conducted in person and over Zoom utilizing https://sunnah.com/bukhari. Limited special-edition copies of Ṣahīḥ al-Bukhārī are available for purchase through Tayseer Seminary.
